This rule seems arbitrary at best and I believe my son was judged on his size and not treated appropriately at all. My family of 8 can find other places to shop where all of my children will feel welcome.
I was extremely disappointed in Kahului Safeway today and will not be giving them my business any longer. My 13 year old son went to buy himself something to eat at the deli and was refused service unless he had an adult present. He saw no signage indicating this policy, but left the store hungry and feeling like he had broken the rules and was not welcome in the store.
We stopped by on our way to Makena beach. Great selection, super friendly staff and a clean store. Big selection of hot foods and alcohol!
Best grocery store on Maui, however this Kahului location is surrounded by vagrants and the restroom is filthy. Probably due to the bums. I hate to assume, but who in their right mind would rub feces on the wall.
Safeway is a great store here. There prices are best on produce and meats and they often have discounts on soon to expire meat products. They have a wide variety of products. I often get the deli made sandwiches for 6.99 and it's a great deal. Evrryrhi mg seems fresh and it's nice that they are open for 24hrs at most locations.
Had fun joking with the cashier,and employees and customers,I can't help myself making jokes and people around me Safeway has a good positive holiday spirit came out laughing with a big smile on my face, that's a pretty good vote for Kahalui Safeway.
