First time in and I really wanted this to be my new spot. I went here for a $40 mani pedi and I told them that, left paying $140! They just do things without asking and then they charge you for it! I didn't mind paying extra for gels because I thought they would last longer but they only lasted 5 days! They started peeling on the edges and coming off! Went in to get them fixed and she made things worse! She filed down the nail polish and painted over it with a completely different color! My nails ended up looking so ghetto at the end of it all and they only lasted a week and a half till they started coming off again! I don't work with harsh chemicals or things that would cause them to peel, I work with computers. The one at maui mall is a lot nicer and when I get my nails done there, they last for MONTHS!
I have to thank Yelp for pointing me to this nail salon. I was on Maui for work meetings and had flown in a day earlier. I had searched Yelp for a recommendation to do a pedicure and fills. I did go first to another place that also was recommended but they told me they didn't take walk ins.
I found out from Amy that she and Lynn are co-owners and have another shop in Kihei. I could tell she loved what she did and her leg/foot massage was awesome! I was offered a choice of drinks: water, coffee, tea, sodas or a glass of wine. I chose the latter and appreciated how it complemented my foot massage. Lynn was so proficient at the manicure and gel-dip that she was done in a flash and I was able to get my leg waxed (after the gel polish on my toes) before I enjoyed the orange scrub and paraffin foot treatment.
Don't let the nice looks of this place fool you. I got gel nails that began chipping less than a week after. I had a manicure and pedicure at the same time and it ran 1.5 hour long at which point I had to tell the nail tech to forget about painting my toe nails already cause I didn't have anymore time or patience to stay. The nail tech also kept snagging at the skin at the base of my cuticles multiple times and it hurt. both techs didn't speak English so I couldn't really communicate to them.
Ive been going to LV for months now and I love it! You can tell that she loves what she does because it shows. Never a failed moment..... Thank you LV!
Two cuts, a staph infection and expensive gel nails that lift after a few days, it is time to break up. Sucks because I really like the owner and her mom. :(
I left feeling like I had made two new friends and highly recommend any Maui resident to give this place a try. Now I need to find a place on Oahu that offers gel dip.
And so, I headed to LV salon. It was easy to find and the atmosphere very friendly. Amy greeted me and had me pick out my nail color before having me sit for my pedicure. I appreciated her trimming my cuticles and really scrubbing my feet which hadn't seen a pedicure in a month. I jumped at the chance to upgrade my pedi for the orange scrub and paraffin treatment. Meanwhile, Lynn came to do my fills and after hearing my story (I'm a nail biter), she suggested I take off the acrylics and she would do gel-dip. She told me how much more healthy for my nails it would be. I hesitated for a second because I had picked out fire engine red as my polish and my natural nails only had grown out for 2 months. But, after her reassurance that it would look beautiful, I took the leap of faith and did it! I am SO HAPPY with the results! The process involves painting on layers of clear gel, dipping your nail in the colored powder, repeating two times. At the end, I clear gel topcoat goes on - but dries naturally instead of under the white light. Either way, the polish was dry and shiny after only 5 or so minutes. I 've attached pics of my fingers and toes - I should've done a before pic so you could see why I'm so pleased and satisfied.
They guarantee their gel nails with a redo within 3 days if they start lifting. I've had my gel redone 4 different times already, when will I learn?
If you do decide to go here, PAY FIRST! Don't get tricked or cheated into paying for something that isn't worth it!
I've been dating LV Nails every other week since May 2016. I have been thru 3 manicurists because they all leave after a month or so (work visa issues I suspect). I'm always offered one of the newbies on the floor because I don't get acrylics done which is fine because mani/pedi - not a big deal. The last newbie I got had a horrible scowl and a shirt on that read SHUT UP AND LISTEN. Lol. Ironic because she butchered my cuticles and gave me a deep cut on my toe. She continued nipping despite the blood, emptying a bottle of antiseptic on it. I'm a good sport, no hurt feelings, I have medicated ointment in my car from the last staph infection they gave me in August. However, the instruments the woman used on me were never disinfected, rather she was sent to do a manicure. I tried informing them discreetly that the new customer was getting my bloody nippers but they all feigned ignorance.
