Had bad return experience with Avis, Maui. While returning, they said printer broke and couldn't give receipt and an e-receipt will be emailed(which I never got). After looking at my card charges, they charged us for extra day/fuel. The return time was even marked after our flight departure, which is theoretically impossible. 30 mins with customer service agent over phone and he couldn't explain why the charges were made. Never ever going to rent from Avis again and highly discourage anyone !!!
My flight was delayed which resulted in me arriving about half an hour after Avis was closed. I was in a panic and rushed over to the office and found out that they were on top of it and waiting for me. The representatives worked passed their business hours to ensure I was not stranded without my rental. It was the only car rental company at the Maui airport who did this. Also, the team was very friendly and very helpful. Im glad I chose to book with Avis.
Bad customer service. We just traveled to Maui and rented a car from Avis. We got to the rental office to pick up our car. We got in the regular line - about 3 people from the front. We then noticed that there is an Avis Preferred lane - so we switched to that. The agent said he could not help us because his system didn't show that I had Preferred. I showed him my cell phone that showed I am Preferred... still, he said he couldn't help us, and we had to go back to the other line (which, by this point was 15+ people long). We begrudgingly went - but then, to add insult to injury, he called someone from the regular line to help next. So, he CAN help non-preferred members, he just wouldn't help us. It was a waste of time, a terrible start to our honeymoon, and I will never rent from Avis again.
We had a great experience with Avis in Maui. Got a nice convertible Mustang at a reasonable rate. Great service by the staff. The only negative thing I can think of, is that the bathrooms there need to be cleaned better.
Easy in, easy out as a preferred member. The mobile app gave me my car's location as soon as we landed. Got on the car and took off after showing some ID at the gate. `Olu`olu.
